Nyrobi seeks to provide care with an open mind and heart, meeting families where they are and offer emotional support, evidence-based information, and partner and sibling support. This care looks like breastfeeding support, help with emotional and physical recovery, light housekeeping and meal prep, newborn and sibling care, and referrals to local resources. I want to leave families feeling informed, supported, and empowered to care for and make the decisions that are best for your family.
Nyrobi will happily provide home postpartum doula services to families in the Upstate area of South Carolina (Greenville, Greer, and Spartanburg).
I love meeting and encouraging new families! I believe it is important for a family to choose a doula they feel comfortable with and wholeheartedly believe will give them the support they are looking for.
Getting to Know Nyrobi
Hello, my name is Nyrobi and I am a graduate of Furman University, class of 2019, with a B.S. in Public Health and am currently a master’s student at the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health, obtaining my Master’s of Public Health in Epidemiology. My research interests include the impact and evaluation of health services on public health and the reduction of the disparity in maternal mortality and morbidity between white and black mothers and babies.
As a young woman pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period seemed mysterious and, to be honest, scary. And unfortunately, we do not talk enough about what pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period are really like from both a planning, physical, and emotional perspective. Since the postpartum period was the most unknown and frightening to me I decided to educate myself. There is a lot of work that goes into preparing for birth and the newborn, but I wanted to really better understand the recovery process and the transition into motherhood. In the spring of 2019 I completed my DONA International and Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA) Postpartum Doula trainings and am continuing to work towards finishing my certifications in the next year.
I am excited to offer the support I would like to receive with my own children in the future. My goal is to educate, support, and care for you, baby, and family and I am grateful to be able to listen, learn, and take part in the postpartum period with you.
