Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class
Register NowAbout Your Instructor
Congratulations on your upcoming birth! If you are looking for a comprehensive birth class that will equip you and your partner (or support person), then you are in the right place!
When I had my first baby, I had the idea that once I showed up at the hospital, I would be instructed on what to do. In reality, once I arrived I was told I needed to be induced and was confined to the bed so my baby could be monitored (and I was a very low risk first time). Even though I had attended a birth class, I wasn't prepared for a discussion on induction and didn't realize there were other options. It was until I was pregnant with my fifth baby (and hoping for a VBA2C) that I learned that I needed to be my own advocate and everything involving birth. I wish I could have taken a class like the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class.
This class offers the most up-to-date information from Evidence Based Birth® and is paired with peer-to-peer discussions and a hands-on comfort measures class while I mentor you through it all.
The format of the class will fit your busy lifestyle; you can attend the ZOOM discussions from anywhere. In addition, you will have access to the online videos for 3-6 months, which will allow you to review the information before labor starts.
I am so excited to mentor you through this class!

FAQs
Can’t I just educate myself online using search engines and videos?
A lot of that info you find online? It’s bad or inaccurate! The benefit of the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class is that we curate all of the best, evidence-based information and get you and your partner engaged in the learning process.
Shouldn’t I just let the doctors and nurses tell me what to do?
Routine practices in some hospitals are still about 15 to 20 years behind the research, and there is a lot of pressure to conform to traditions that might not be in your best interests. We will teach you and your partner how to be your own advocate—a skill you can use for the rest of your life!
My friends told me that taking a childbirth class is a waste of time.
There are a lot of poor-quality classes out there that have given childbirth education a bad reputation. The founder of Evidence Based Birth®, Rebecca Dekker, PhD, RN, APRN, knows how to make classes exciting for young adults. The end result is a class that is motivating and SO much fun to participate in. You will learn more than you could ever imagine!
What will I actually learn in this class that could be of use to me?
Our students are most excited to learn about the entire toolkit of comfort measures for labor. We cover pain management techniques like massage, water immersion, upright birthing positions, acupressure, music therapy, and deep breathing, just to name a few. When labor starts, you and your partner will be ready!
Is a discount offered on this class?
Yes! If you are a doula client, we are happy to give you a discount. You should see a discount reflected on your class invoice.
Will my insurance pay for a childbirth class?
Maybe. Each insurance company and policy differs, so you would need to check with your insurance carrier. We are happy to provide you with our NPI number and the coding for childbirth education on our invoice. We can also accept payment made directly with your HSA card.
